I’m an academic librarian with a doctorate of education in open and distributed learning. My doctoral research focuses on the demonstration of social presence in online communications in an international blended learning course in which some of the students are persons of concern, e.g. refugees, internally displaced persons, or asylum seekers. Using first-person arts-based action research methods and statistical text-based content analysis, I engaged with qualitative and quantitative data.

I have a long history of participation in community sustainability through multiple lens, including social justice, environment, economic, arts, education, open educational resources, and open data to name a few. They are all intricately interconnected fostering the social common good.
